Today's Walgreens and CVS trips 1/8/12

CVS
I debated on doing multiple transactions or one big one.  Since I had a $25 gift card from my thoughtful Secret Santa, I decided to put it to good use and do one large one.  Now, had I done multiples and NOT purchased the $4.99 Christmas decoration and Alyssa's "bribe", I would have spent about $10 OOP and had $4 in ECBs remaining.  Since I had the GC, I was able to keep my OOP low and now I have quite a few ECBs for next week.

Retail $109.10
OOP $27.82 + tax, received $15.49 ECBs
Net Spent: $12.33 + tax

Here's what I bought:
(1) Christmas decoration $19.99 on sale 75% off $4.99
(2) Almay Mascara Amethyst 75% off $2.25/each
(3) Axe Body Washes (Buy 3, receive $4 ECBs) $4.49/each
(1) Axe Detailer $4.49
(1) CVS Vitamin D $3.49 (Buy 1, receive $3.49 ECBs)
(1) GE Energy Light bulb $2.99 (Buy 1, receive $2 ECBs)

(3) Mars Candy Bars $.29/each
(1) CVS Hydrogen Peroxide 2pk $2 (Buy 1, receive $1 ECBs)

Total $27.89 + tax, received $4, $3.49, $1, and $5 ECBs
Net Spent = $12.33 + tax (did not factor in the GC in calculation)

Walgreens
Week 2 for with Walgreens.  Since I shop at CVS at 7am and then come home to make the family breakfast, I don't make it to Walgreens until after lunchtime.  It's always busy, which makes for flustered cashiers and frustrated other customers.  This week's challenge: During transaction #1, my internet coupon AND my register reward from last week wouldn't scan.  The cashier tried to tell me they weren't any good (did I mention flustered cashiers??)  Again, thanks to savvy management, it turned out the register and the cashier were challenged, not my coupons LOL and my send transaction went off without a hitch.  I made sure to thank my cashier for his patience when my transactions were completed.  I bought quite a few necessities along with the RR deals, so these transactions include a few more items than you need to do.
